Amazon has established, developed, and maintained the trust of our millions of satisfied buyers. To achieve this place of high importance the performance target of their sellers plays a major role. Amazon Seller Performance metrics has built the trust with their buyers such that they can shop with a sense of safety and security about their third-party Marketplace transactions.

Amazon makes sure that all sellers should be working toward achieving and maintaining a level of customer service that meets the following seller performance targets for every product they sell:

  • Less than 1% of Order defect rate.
  • Less than 2.5% of Pre-Fulfillment cancellation rate.
  • Less than 4% late dispatch rate.

If any of the Amazon sellers fail to meet these targets can result in the removal of your selling privileges. All sellers should be monitoring their ODR metric (order defect metric).

Recently Amazon has announced changes to merchant’s Amazon Seller Performance metrics and this will come into effect on the 1st of October 2018.

Given below are the three metrics which are removed from Amazon Seller Performance Notifications:

Customer Service Dissatisfaction Rate:

This is the response time of buyer-seller messaging service and the percentage of customers who are not satisfied with these responses.

Contact Response Time:

All those messages of the customers you haven’t responded or replied to. OR if you responded you took some time i.e. the amount of time elapsed between when your response is sent through Buyer-Seller Messaging and when a buyer message is received including weekends and holidays

Refund Rate:

Refund processing for those orders which were dispatched-confirmed or any item not delivered on time a refund has to be processed.
